Google Docs

This week we had an opportunity to expand our understanding of Internet Security. As this web 2.0 exploration continues, I hope that this assembly has raised your awareness of just how connected and vulnerable we really are. Today in class we will talk about another web 2.0 tool called "Google Docs." We are going to experiment with this lesson. Google Docs allows users to collaborate when creating a "word-like" document. Google Docs looks like Word and Pages, but without the bells and whistles. You can invite others (in your case it will be other 8th graders in our school) to view and edit your document. Go to the following website for a quick tour of Google Docs

TASK:

1) Create a Google Doc.

2) Write your First name and last initial in the far right-hand side (right-justified) of the top of the google doc. Write the date directly under your name. Skip two lines and write the following title "My Thoughts About Internet Safety" .

3) Write a minimum of 4 sentences concerning internet safety and what you learned during the assembly.

4) Invite (2) other 8th graders at our school to view and edit (add to) your google doc.
